Camillus’ entry into the U.S. military’s next-generation bayonet trials is a true piece of modern knife history. Although it ultimately lost out to the M9, the immense investment Camillus made into this project, combined with the high production costs, played a role in the company’s eventual closure, making surviving examples highly collectible today. This First Production Run 2004 bayonet features a rugged tan and green configuration and includes a detachable wire cutter system, built for real-world field functionality. The sheath is clearly stamped “CAMILLUS CUTLERY CO. FIRST PRODUCTION RUN 2004,” while the pommel is proudly marked “CAMILLUS N.Y. USA,” confirming its authenticity and heritage. Offered here in near mint condition, complete with the original box and paperwork. Whether you’re a serious collector, military history enthusiast, or simply appreciate rare American-made blades, this is a standout piece that rarely surfaces in this condition.
