Camillus
Only one in the case
One of only two knives Camillus ever made in its Safari Series, and this one comes with its original box. The CSS-1 "Cape Buffalo" is a big, handsome jumbo trapper built on the same frame as the famous Remington R1123 Bullet knife. The details are what set it apart. The handle carries a real cartridge base for a shield, stamped RP 375 H&H MAG, the classic African big-game round. The spey blade is etched with a Cape buffalo safari scene and marked CSS-1, and the clip master is etched "Camillus Safari Series." Rich cocobolo wood handles, nickel silver bolster, brass liners and a lined lanyard hole finish it off. Made in Camillus, New York, in the late 1980s to mid-1990s. With Camillus closing its doors in 2007, boxed Safari Series knives keep getting harder to find. A great piece for a Camillus, trapper or hunting-knife collection.
