D. H. Russell Belt Knife Canada rd-1962

Description

The D.H. Russell Belt Knife (Canada RD-1962) is a later production of one of the most iconic North American outdoor knives ever made. Building on the success of the original 1958 design, the 1962 registration reflects refinements that continued to cement its reputation among hunters, trappers, and bushmen. Known for its distinctive “crooked” or elliptical blade profile, this knife excels at controlled slicing, skinning, and general field work. The blade is typically crafted from high-quality stainless or carbon steel, offering a strong balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance, ideal for real-world outdoor use. A defining feature is the offset handle design, engineered to fit naturally in the hand. This ergonomic shape positions the fingers for superior control while reducing fatigue, making it especially effective during prolonged tasks like game processing. Stamped “D.H. Russell Belt Knife Canada RD-1962,” this piece carries both historical significance and collector appeal. Whether used in the field or added to a collection, it represents decades of proven performance and thoughtful design. A true Canadian classic, built to work, built to last.
