New York Knife Co.
Only one in the case
An original Hammer Brand from the New York Knife Company of Walden, New York, one of the largest and most respected American pocketknife makers from 1856 until the doors closed in 1931. This 6030 pattern is a two-blade equal-end jack with deeply jigged bone handles in a rich reddish brown, a bow-tie style nickel silver shield, and nickel silver bolsters. Nearly a century old and the blades still have a nice strong pop when they open and close. Pre-1931 New York Knife Co. knives are prized by collectors for their quality and their place in American cutlery history. - Maker: New York Knife Co., Walden, NY - Brand: Hammer Brand - Pattern: No. 6030 equal-end jack - Era: pre-1931 - Blades: 2 (spear main and pen), plain edge, carbon steel - Walk and talk: strong pop on both blades - Handles: jigged bone - Shield: bow-tie style nickel silver - Condition: vintage, pre-owned, with honest age and patina.
