Spyderco Manix 2 XL, Black G10, S30V (SC95GP2) The Manix 2 XL takes everything that made the original Manix 2 a modern classic and scales it up into one of the most capable large folders Spyderco builds. Made in the USA, it pairs a broad, leaf-shaped blade with a lock design that's earned a reputation for being nearly bombproof. That lock is the star of the show: Spyderco's patented Ball Bearing Lock uses a free-floating steel ball encased in a polymer cage that wedges onto the blade's ramp when opened. Because the ball is spherical, it self-adjusts across a large contact surface, meaning consistent, confident lockup every time, without the wear patterns that plague flat-faced locks over years of hard use. The blade itself is full-flat ground CPM-S30V, a premium stainless known for holding an edge through serious work while still sharpening up easily. Aggressive jimping above the oversized 14mm round hole gives you secure thumb placement, and a textured index-finger choil lets you choke up for more control when the task calls for precision instead of power. Despite its size, this knife carries surprisingly light for its footprint. The skeletonized steel liners add rigidity without adding bulk.
