George Wostenholm
Only one in the case
A genuine piece of Sheffield cutlery history. This two-blade pen knife carries the famous I*XL mark of George Wostenholm, one of the most respected names ever to come out of Sheffield, England. The "Sheffield England" tang stamp places it after 1891, when knives sent to the U.S. had to show their country of origin, and generally before "Made in England" became the standard marking. The blades open from opposite ends: a full spear master blade on one end and a slim pen blade on the other, a classic, slim pattern that rides easy in a pocket. Dark jigged handles, nickel silver bolsters and a shield inlay give it the look collectors love, and the blades show an honest, even patina from over a century of age. A great pickup for a Sheffield or English cutlery collection, or a gentleman's carry with real history behind it.
