Vintage Pal Blade Co. 4-Blade Pocket Knife, 1940s USA Here's a true piece of American cutlery history you can carry. This four-blade folder comes from Pal Blade Co., the razor company that grew into a knife maker after taking over the Remington cutlery operation around 1940. Knives with the "Pal Blade Co." tang stamp were made in a narrow window, from about 1940 until 1945, when the company became Pal Cutlery Co. The name was gone for good when the company closed in 1953. That makes a Pal Blade Co. stamp a real wartime-era find. Four blades in one pocket-sized knife is the classic camp and scout pattern. It was built to be a whole toolkit: cut, pry, punch, open a can or a bottle, and drive a screw. Pal was known for these working patterns, and it was also a supplier of fighting knives to the U.S. military during WWII. Collectors have long liked its jigged bone handles and match-striker pulls.
