1–1 of 1 knife
A Sheffield-made bowie sold by London's great colonial outfitter.
S.W. Silver & Co. were outfitters at Cornhill in the City of London, equipping emigrants, officers and explorers through the nineteenth century, and the bowie knives sold under their name and address were made for them in Sheffield. A Silver & Co. bowie is a Victorian piece with the retailer's stamp, the kind of knife that went to the colonies and the American frontier.
Ours is a Corn Hill bowie, the top antique fixed blade in the case and one of the pieces we are asked about most.
