An antique three-blade stockman stamped A.J. Jordan St. Louis, from one of the great names in early American cutlery retailing. Andrew Jackson Jordan founded his St. Louis cutlery business in 1871, and his standards were so high that in 1885 he opened his own factory in Sheffield, England to supply his showrooms with first-class knives. His St. Louis store grew into one of the largest cutlery stores in America before he retired around 1920. This stockman gives you three blades for real everyday versatility, with a long main blade and two secondary blades for detail and utility work. The brown jigged bone handles have deep, well-defined jigging and a warm, aged color, set off by nickel silver bolsters and a shield. The blades show the patina and wear you'd expect from a knife roughly a century old.
