Spyderco Native 5 Lockback, Brown Canvas Micarta, CPM CRU-WEAR A modern classic pairing: Spyderco's venerable Native 5, now dressed in old-school brown canvas Micarta and backed by tough-as-nails CRU-WEAR steel. First released in 1997 and refined through five generations, the Native has been steadily developed into an EDC folder with sharp ergonomics and precise lock tolerances, arguably about as good as a lockback gets. Its full-flat-ground leaf blade is finished satin for low-friction cutting, with a notched choil and thumb ramp for a secure grip and Spyderco's signature round hole for ambidextrous one-hand opening. The Micarta scales are sanded smooth to naturally patina with age, housing a sturdy back lock and stainless steel backspacer.
