The Daddy Barlow is the big brother of the classic Barlow pattern, and this Case XX 6143 is a sharp example from the first year of Case's famous dot-dating system. The tang is stamped CASE XX USA with 10 dots, dating it to 1970. Everything a Barlow collector wants is here: a long, polished bolster, a single clip-point blade with a long nail nick, and smooth dark brown scales set with brass pins. The blade has a bright mirror finish and a full, unsharpened-down profile, and the bolster is clean. The scales show only light surface marks consistent with age.
