A handsome vintage four-blade congress pocket knife from Keen Kutter, the famous premium brand of Simmons Hardware Company of St. Louis. The congress is one of the most elegant traditional patterns, and this one has the classic gently curved frame with two blades opening from each end. It wears smooth honey-yellow handles with natural amber mottling, a long nickel silver bar shield and nickel silver bolsters at both ends. One tang carries the Keen Kutter logo stamp and another is stamped with the pattern number K16. The carbon steel blades show honest age with patina and light wear. A great piece for Keen Kutter and hardware-store-brand collectors.
