Antique & Vintage Pocket Knives at Austin Blade Co.
American and Sheffield cutlery from the 1890s to the 1980s, inspected and dated.
Remington bullet knives, Cattaraugus and New York Knife Co. from Little Valley and Walden, Schrade Walden stockmen, Western and Camillus, Joseph Rodgers from Sheffield, and the trade knives that filled hardware stores for a century. Most are carbon steel with bone, stag or jigged handles, and most have been carried.
We buy these one at a time, from estates and collections, and describe the wear honestly. The vintage buying guide explains what to look for: walk and talk, blade play, cracked scales, replaced parts.
Questions we get at the counter
- Is a vintage pocket knife safe to carry and use?
- Usually. Check that the backspring still snaps the blade closed and that there is no crack at the bolster. We will tell you in the listing, and we can tune one on the bench.
